The Madonia Giovanna Winery includes approximately 14 hectares that extend onto the slopes of the splendid Montemaggio hill in Bertinoro, the heart of Romagna. In 1992, the vineyards were planted with HDP (high density planting) after having carried out a clonal study at a height between 200 and 350 meters above sea level. There were roughly 7,000 plants per hectare, with low yield per vine, and an ideal southwest exposure. They found a land and an enviable climate, occasionally interrupted by olive trees and patches of woods whose scents blend with those coming from the sea.
